Thanks GT.  :)

Not sure what you mean by setup, but...  I use left stick for steer and right for gas/brake.  My best time on the TT with the controller was 1'03.9xx  Probably could have matched my current time (with the wheel), but don't have enough interest in TT's to do more than a 5 to 10 lap session.

Oh and sensitivity at 6

Hi Brindle. :)

It's not too bad.
I'm a DS3 user, and with the SH tires, the car is relatively stable. It can get a bit squirelly, but you almost have to make it break loose. So, I'd assume it's even better with a wheel. I was having a blast in the corkscrew while testing @ Laguna Seca.  :o

I tried it at Tsukuba last night for a few min, and it was pretty fun.  Tight turns can break loose rather easily.

Mine was totally stock so a little bit of tuning would make it feel a lot more like other true "open wheel" cars.

Having a front engine, it doesn't exactly drive like a formula car, but I can see it being fun to drive IRL and perhaps on a track, though it's definitely more of a roadster.

yea, for the record, whenever you see me ahead of Brindle in a TT, it's probably because he did 5-10 laps and I did 50-100 :D

It would be nice if they shared that stat along with a "number of minutes track time" stat.

No prob Brindle. :)

I think that might've been the case with many regulars as well. I think we only ended up with about 5-6 max in the room.

When fully blown, this car is much more difficult to handle than when stock.

I am willing to weaken it, to make it handle better. That may mean I can't be a contender, but at least I won't be dangerous.

I'll take a look at the specs again and see if we need to revise... stay tuna'd.

This car was relatively easy to drive, after hearing that it was a bit difficult.

Nice car choice, Dave!

I'll admit I had a horrible time with it.  Was probably my tune...

FGT's this week to mimic the Indy 500 race... specs posted tonight most likely.

A few notes about the event and car:

The car is expensive.  Run some races to buy one soon if you don't already have one.

We're running approx 1.5 hours - It will require concentration and control of your car.  Controller users should specifically practice keeping the car smooth in corners especially with traffic to either side.  This will be the biggest cause of wrecks, which we should each specifically try to avoid.

The car has a lot of power - DUH.  You'll find you can be on the throttle most of the time, but be careful when behind a car going into a corner.  They will need to slow, and you will need to make a clean pass or slow down even more.

Aero is available of course, but you may not want it.  Significantly higher speeds are found with it very low or off.

Draft is on WEAK, not real, which amounts to a medium amount of draft.  This is the only way to give boost for a pass because NoS is not available for this car as we had hoped.

Tire Wear is ON Normal - Tires last pretty well if you treat them nice, but certainly at least two pit stops will be needed, so plan for that and practice pitting.  Most of us haven't done it in quite a while :smileyvery-happy: (take note of pit-entry speeds for triggering a successful pit.  USE THE ENTIRE PIT EXIT LANE (that exits you out onto the back st raight) AND ZOOM MAP OUT TO FULL MAP VIEW.

Fuel - Always grab more than it tells you to grab.  Several liters more at least.  Drafting to save fuel may be a good strategy for some.

Lapped Traffic - This is a little different in this scenario IMO.  Because it's an oval, and we'll all essentially be travelling just as fast, there is no need to automatically let lapping cars pass.  HOWEVER, you must maintain control of your cars as they attempt to pass and do everything you can not to disrupt the race up front.  If you find yourself with little control and you think you'll wreck the leaders, ease off a little bit where safe (probably on a straight) and let them pass a little easier.  But feel free to try to hang with them in a pack afterwards (again, so long as you are not disrupting them).

Walls - Going wide in the turns is often faster and more attractive for ovals, especially for trying to avoid helping another car draft (outright dodging and weaving is still discouraged), but keep in mind that if you even touch the wall, you'll potentially be wrecking several cars behind you.

Overall, just be careful and get some good practice in before the race on Saturday.  A few of us will definitely be doing more practice throughout the week, and so you can probably find a time to join us.  We will also open up the race loung earlier on Saturday for more practice and testing.
