Complete: 24 hours of GT300 at the 24h Ring; in 2 hours
« on: January 26, 2012, 12:24:16 PM »

Sadly I don't remember who I stole this evnet idea/format from, I think someone ran it on GTP or the Deathstar, but anyway it was Stolen from I believe Spxshark at the Deathstar, a fun concept I thought that worked out pretty well, and I've been wanting to do it again.

24 hours in 2 hours - Time progression will be set to 12, so for every minute we race IRL, the race clock goes 12.  This means that after 1 hour of actual seat time, you've done 12 hours in game time, so 2 hours = 24 hours of time change in race.

Cars selection will be set to GT300 cars by lobby, and I'm planning on I will be setting tuning to be PROHIBITED.  This means any and all adjustable parts will have to be "reset to default" to enter the race.  I say planning as I'm not entirely sure GT300 cars bone stock will have enough power/transmission for the ring without testing some.  If anyone knows the answer to this offhand please let a tuna know!  Tested this last night, and while at the end of the long straight they get close to rev limiter, and with a draft may bounce once or twice, I think the setup is perfect, just the right amount of full throttle time.

That *should* limit it to the following vehicles.  If any are wrong or missing, let me know:

S Autobacs ARTA Garaiya (JGTC) ‘03
S Nissan CALSONIC SKYLINE (JGTC) ‘00 Doesn't show when SuperGT 300 is selected..?
    S Nissan C-WEST RAZO SILVIA (JGTC) ‘01
S RE Amemiya AMEMIYA ASPARADRINK RX7 (JGTC) ‘04
S Subaru CUSCO SUBARU ADVAN IMPREZA (JGTC) ‘03
    S Toyota SUPERAUTOBACS APEX MR-S (JGTC) ‘00
    S Toyota WEDSSPORT CELICA (JGTC) ‘03 - LR-MR-BadBoots7
P RE Amemiya Amemiya AsparaDrink RX7 (SUPER GT) ‘06 - TunaPhreak, SpitFriedBrindle, BakedTuna
P Subaru CUSCO DUNLOP SUBARU IMPREZA (SUPER GT) ‘08 - WolfpackS2k, RoninTuna, MetalFreak
P Autobacs ARTA Garaiya (SUPER GT) ‘08 - BigRek, TunaWiz
P Lexus Weds Sport IS350 (SUPER GT) ‘08

Other than that, tires will be set to Race Hard, ABS, TC, and Driving Line allowed, all other aids will be off.  Slipstream weak, damage light, real track edge, tire/fuel wear on, etc...

Now, just keep an eye out for the date and time!
Figure it's time to set a hard date and time for this event and see who can actually make it.  Depending on participation/availability/desire, I hope to re-run this on a different day of the week (I'm thinking a Monday, also 10pm) to try to make it more open for availability/schedules.  Or run Sarthe instead.  Or maybe make this a monthly thing with minor changes.

Anyway, 24 at 24 on the 24rd, 10pm EST!

i've seen a 2 hr of le mans (at sarthe of course) at the PSN forum that did very well a few months ago.  It was run by Spxshark.  I think Cipriani may have run in it.  I did not.

I doubt that this saturday would work for me, but I'd recommend Nurburgring 24hr circuit (it may be the only day/night nurb variation, not sure).

if something changes and I can stop by, i'll let you know.

I'd like to run this event but i wont be available on saturday as i'll be at my parents house for a furryized Mario Kart Wii tournament online, but sunday would be fine... maybe after Sunday Shuffle dies down?

I'm surprised we didn't do a 24hrs(down to some kind of scale) of DayTuna race.

So timing wise this was obviously thrown together too quickly to get a turnout, then my plans changed and I wasn't available anyway...

BUT I'd love to find a weekend/night to run this for real, so I'll update the topic with a new date when I arrive on one.

For now, any other interest in this particular event format aside from Metal and Ex?

Also I was informed Toscana is the asphalt course, so that's back in the normal mix as well, and actually might be my preference of track.

I do have interest, but a word of warning: Toscana is only a 3 hour time change track.... not the full 24 hours like La Sarthe and the Nurburgrings.

you can use a randomly generated custom track too, and they all have full time change, I believe.  someone will have to confirm that though

a couple hours of racing should give us time to learn it ;)

Wrong. None of the user created tracks have full 24 hour time change. At most (Eiefel) they are 10 hours IIRC, but i definitely know that none of them are like the Nurb's and La Sarthe.

I'm in if the decision is to run at the Nordscheife or the 24hr.  I've been wanting to run in something like this for a long time.  Would be an absolute blast in GT300 cars.

I have been wanting to get back into the 300 cars for quite a while now. Fridays mid day Saturdays maybe? I have some flexabitiy during the week night evenings as well. There is no better car for the 24hour Nurb than the GT300 cars in my opinion. Very fast little fuckers and hella fun to drive.
