Are those books or vinyls on the shelf? If they are vinyls, nice collection.
For the kids. Vinyls are also called records. Music gets inscribed onto them. They get played on a turntable. It is what most of us listened to before the fancy tape decks and CD players were invented. Now it's kids and there phones, pads, pods.
Damn, I'm almost as old as AllStar.
Except that you probably don't remember 78 RPM records.
They came out BEFORE the LPs (Long Playing - 33-1/3 RPM) and 45's (45 RPM) I once had an original 78 RPM record of Frank Sinatra's
first big hit "I'll never smile Again" (He sang it because of me :palm ) in my hands - Un-played, and in the original sleeve. Problem is, that my greedy little Niece thought it would be worth money and grabbed it out of my hands.....when she did, the record came out of the sleeve and hit the wall, shattering into about 1,000 pieces. I could have strangled the last breath out of her
:nono , But my brother stopped me before she choked - dammit. It was what you would call, "finding a rare Ferrari in the barn" kind of find, that only comes along once in a lifetime. Sometimes you just can't find an excuse for kids. This was one of those times I wish my brother had raised Turnips. Eh, whaddyagonnado?
