About tuning...

they all come with LSD, full-adjust suspension and full-adjust transmission.  but you're saying "no adjustment" to these, right?

if you're running with chicanes that is probably fine but without chicanes (which is what I thought I read) you'll be bouncing your throttle all the way down Mulsanne straight -- unless you alter topend or FD.

just sayin'...

I thought I read we could tune the cars, we just couldn't throw on any power adders.

Some clarification might be in order.

:stoopid: I'm guessing no power adders is what was ment. Just guessing though.

Sorry for any confusion (and for not replying sooner - was a crazy weekend).

All cars come stock with full adjust ability so you do whatever you like within those ranges.  Sniper is correct - no power adders or weight reduction measures.  So you can do whatever you like to the aerodynamics, suspension, drivetrain and transmission.

Still never got a chance to try the cars.  Only one I've ever driven is the Ferrari, so I'm going with that.

Though I didn't try the GT40 or Vette; here is my reconnaissance info.

Chaparral 2D - just don't get slowed or stopped, it takes a bit to accelerate to power band.
Ferrari 330P  - seems fastest but it is also the slipperyest.  Takes alot of work.
Ford Mark IV - meh...  was not impressed
Jaguar XJ13 - lowest PP overall but easiest to drive and keep on the track, not alot of work so 35 laps should be relatively easy

Sounds good Fried!  I'll make the change in the OP.

I'll add to that.  While I love the GT40 it is very difficult to drive in this game...on default settings.  With a dedicated tune it is pretty competitive but for some reason it suffers a little on the top end.  Despite similar power ratings to other race cars it's 3-5 mph slower down Mulsanne.  The Corvette C2 is fast thanks to it's horsepower advantage but its also a bit heavier so it chews up tires quickly and is susceptible to power on oversteer.

Okay the deadline has passed so nobody can change vehicles.  Also still need Baked to announce his vehicle choice! :P

See you all Saturday, wahoo! :laugh

I completely forgot when this is. Coincidnetally, it's the only weekend I have nothing planned. I look forward to this one. This will be the longest single race I've done online. I'm pretty sure the next longest would have been a 20 lap race here in GT300, at around 1hour 25min.

Damn.  For some reason I thought this was starting earlier in the day.  I just reread the OP and see it's starting at 8:30.  Don't cross me off the list just yet but I'm fairly certain I won't be able to make it.

Unfortunately the Weinermobile will not be making a showing.  Baked has had to withdrawl  :(

I've had a request to move the race start back to 8, instead of 8:30.  Is that a possibility for all parties?  I only ask to see if any circumstances have changed for people as the time has gone by.  It was originally Turbo that requested the 8:30 start.  Please state your opinion on this.

But please remember that unless I very clearly state it, the start date is still 8:30PM (EST).  :P

If I can make 8:30 then I should be able to make 8:00. Won't know for sure until Saturday whether I can make either time.
