Well, I was my own designated driver, so I have no problem remembering the weekend.  ^-^

How was it?

For me, it was a bit rushed because I was doing three things over the weekend, drive up north to the meet, on Saturday, boot over to my brother's place, an hour and a half away, so that I could get some Rip Van Winkle, then go to another meeting with a straw bale home designer, Sunday afternoon. The gathering set the main schedule, though.

As far as the GT player's meet went, it was good to see people who I have either raced with or to meet new players who may have known of me. These are the sort of people who I can fit right in with, so anyone would have felt at home right away. nuTTTz had fixed my original PS3, so I had met when he lived in Toronto, but KARTRACER96 and Josh I hadn't met face-to-face before, but I knew of them or had race with KART before, etc., The others I hadn't met before.

Lots of good food and great weather made for good times, of course.

nuTTTz got out his wheel after supper, but by quarter to nine, I had to run, unfortunately.

It looked like a great time, it's always very cool to meet the people you race with. Fortunately I've had the opportunity to meet many of our colleagues, plus make many new friends along the way.

A new issue seems to happen around the GT Academy gift cars that means we need to be careful.

After receiving an Academy car, before you do anything else, make a new back-up copy of your progress file and keep it safe. The new problem is that, if your game freezes and you don't have a way to recover because of a broken game save, there doesn't seem to be a way to recover the lost Academy car, either.

This issue has been reported, but I may not be told a different solution, so protect your saves now.

If anyone finds a solution to the missing cars, please let us know.

Thanks for the heads up MGT. I personally back up my game save after every session, because I'm that paranoid.

Also, because I'm so funny about how my garage is arranged, I'm leaving the GTA car tickets in the hauler until I get them all, so they will be together in the garage. ^-^

From what I've seen so far GT Academy National Finals Season 2 > Season 1 as far as coverage.

We got jipped; but I guess they were getting their feet wet last year with us.

From facebook, the brief but funny conversation next to a picture of Maryeve Dufault interviewing Bryan Heitkotter

I found it amusing anyway. I don't think "Jacob Gregory" thought he'd get a direct reply.

This warrants being repeated.

If you value your Academy gift content, make a back-up of your game save each and every time you get another non-replaceable gift. People seem to have found a variety of ways to break GT5 and lose these cars, so please bear this in mind when getting new gifts.

AFAIK, there is currently no way to replace a lost car, unless PD does something about it.

Getting excited for this years Academy!  Am I the only one?

Can't wait to try out the new physics.  I hope it's set up like last years.  I had a blast with it last year with all the little challenges.

I'm excited and I do want to experience the new physics. I never feel like spending that much time on it though. I would rather be on track with all of you.
