I know some are on vacation and its short notice, but is any one interested in a 50 lap practice race @ Daytona, Wed. 10-24 @9pm eastern. Or a 20 lap daytona followed by a 30 lap Fuji?

Its open to all not just series participants.

I think I can show up for this tonight.  Depends as I'm supposed to do some brake work for a friend after work.  I will post early this evening whether I will be showing up or not.

Thanks Cip, I took a week off and I guess I've gotten a little lax on my event hosting duties. 

A few quick small details.

practice will be in dlrws6 lounge.

If any one wants to try it out. You can get away with minimum tuning and still be competitive.  Basicly drop all aero, set gears to 260 and ride height to max for daytona and you can run stock at Motegi.

I would love to be there but I hope everyone has a good time.

Great time so far. The weather in Myrtle is constantly 74 - 78 every day.

Played 3 rounds and getting better each day but not expecting miracles when I've now played 6 round this year and that includes 3 down here. Had a 93 today with a 42 on the front at Myrtle Beach National. Really nice course but I don't think I will ever get used to the grass, it's more like moss.

LLF, if you're driving back to Canada you need to swing through Raleigh and say hey on your way back!  I've got 2 extra bedrooms here.  We can go test drive some Porsches

Sorry I didn't make the practice event tonight.  I threw out my back moving furniture before and have spent the last few hours laying on the couch popping vicodin, aleve...pretty much whatever I can find around here.

And LLF I believe you're complaining about the Bermuda grass!  That's what golf courses use in the south as you can still play on it in the winter and it's very heat tolerant in the summer.  It is thick though...and soft.

I have fount that no matter where on the course I am I need to take one more club than usual.

We are flying or I would have stopped by for sure. I could never drive 16 hours with the family. My wife can't handle anything more than 3 hours in a car.

We flew out of Niagara Falls with Spirit. Only a little more than an hour from home and half the price.

Sorry guys I did not mean to bail last night.  My internet connection died and come to discover this morning that the rest of the town was out as well.  I guess the local cable company had some sort of technical fart.  Good news is everything seemed fine this morning.

Fuji  er Motegie turned out to be about as interesting as I thought it would be. I'm looking forward to adding 130 laps to what we did last night and see who, if any one, tries harder tires.

Also, also, our short trial run on Daytona Road has lead me to want to squeeze in an event some time in December or January out side of the oval series, perhaps as non-points opening event to a road course series and maybe throw in a second class just for giggles.  Kinda, sorta like a Daytona 24 hours, but no where near as long.  Or... at least I'm seriously thinking about it. I'll probably need to check with a few people to make sure I don't step on any toes.

Also, also, also if anyone needs or wants them the Nissan and Toyota Group C cars are now available in the OCD.

Been quiet here lately and I was just checking that we are a go for the 1rd race this week?

I'm pumped and ready to go even if I haven't fired up the wheel for a few weeks.

My participation is still somewhat unpredictable. We'll see. I think I'd run the Mazda...I could check to see what else I have.

We are still a go.  I'll update the front post with car choices.

Also, keep in mind for those not decided on a car, 3 of them (Nissans and Toyota) are in the OCD for a few more days.

Also, also, We got plenty of room if any one wants to join in for just this race. The whole thing should take about an hour and a half.  (10 minutes qualifying, + 1 hour race, + few extra minutes for possible cautions)

Also, also, also, a few last minute notes/reminders about the race. (I may have mentioned before)
1.Re: Pit stops use the painted blend lines, you can go up onto the track in turns one and two but please maintain a low line, leaving room for the faster cars up high.

2.Re: qualifying, if our group stays as small as it currently is, we use standard qualifying procedures. Just please keep out of the draft of other cars. If we get a larger group or if every one just wants to we'll use a 5 lap qualifying race instead.

3. Use any combination of racing tire you want in the race.
