It's too bad Chrome can't make it. If it helps I can't do weekends but considering it's once a month I could probably do Fridays.

We need more racers and the way I see it with Turbo we still only have 5. It would be nice to get at least 10. Come on guys lets make this work, it should be fun and close racing from my testing.

I mean I'm flexible with weekends but its very hit or miss.  I just never know more than a month out.  2-3 weeks I usually know.

I'll be up for this.  Weekdays would be a surety, whilest weekends (SaturDAY/SaturNIGHT/SunDAY) would be a crap shoot.

No idea of a car yet .....

After some tuning I have got it down to 41:063 on hards and did 1 timed lap with softs and got a 40:994.

I'm starting to get there now.

With 2.08 update it might be possible to use Racing Softs now.

I agree, I wish they could have found a happy medium.

Does anyone know how far these cars will go on a tank of gas?

Maybe lock in softs to encourage tire wear?

I guess we need to test these cars again.

I definitely agree that we should regulate tire compounds in order to ensure multiple pit stops!

sigh... yes I think the update may have thrown my balancing out of wack.  I know from the GTplanet speed test that there is a good chance the speeds have been bumped up a bit more that I would like to run. I'll do a full test tonight and make adjustments only if I absolutely have to keep them balanced.

Regarding tires I was getting 30 laps on hard tires and I'd have about a quarter of a tank left all in clean air, with fairly huge savings on tires and fuel in the draft. I'll find out tonight, but has any one tried a long run with the changes yet? Are the hard tires getting 40+ laps now?

So I guess I'm setting up a test room tonight. Any one who wants is welcome to join in.

PS. Regarding the date of the race. Obviously there has been some debate on when to run. Once I confirm there are no balance issues and/or make changes. I'll post the official date. At this moment I plan on sticking with the Wed. date. It may hurt overall attendance, compaired to running it on Friday but we do know it should work for the people that we have. What ever date I use I do apologize to any one who wants to run it but can't due to the date.

Anyone do any testing with these last night. I'm just curious how much work testing these we have.

Yes.

(I should have written this shit down. I think dlrws6 did)

Racing Soft tires will last between 40/45 laps @ about 39.7 a lap
Racing Medium  40.5
Racing Hard whole lot o laps      40.5

It will come down to race length, fuel and tire strategy. Which I think is awesome.  :)

Dude,

Were you getting these kinds of times before the update? If so I've got a lot more work to do with my tune.

I almost fell off my chair when I saw your times. I will have to give it a go maybe after tonight's race.

See you there.

I was out there with the fellas last night as well.  I also recorded similar times (high 39s) with the Sauber, 787B, Minolta and Nissans.

Minimum aero and taller gears (higher top speed) are key.
