I'll be there. I had the chance to run some laps and have it down to consistent 27:5xx. Anyone else have some lap times?

I can almost take turns 1 & 2 full throttle.

I don't recall times, but I know when we tested there on racing soft tires, it was flat through turns 1 and 2 and just a slight lift before turn 3.

I'm running similar but slightly slower times.  The 2.09 update messed my tune.

At 100 laps the race should last an hour or less if cautions are kept to a minimum.

If there is time and interest I'd like to test an event idea that is completely different.  If you want to participate all you'll need is an ACR Viper, with an oil change, sports soft tires, Windshield weight reduction, carbon hood, Plus the following parts are optional, the optional wing in GT Auto or keep the default, and the close ratio 6-speed and fixed lowered spring kit. No tuning or other upgrade parts are permitted. I'd like to run a few short races at LumbergRing D or other road course.

Thanks Dude.

I still can't believe that there was not 1 singlr caution called. After what we went through at Daytona I thought for sure this was going to be a mess. It was quite a lot of running alone but very tense watching Grilled gain on me a little at a time and then passing me about mid race. That wasn't bad enough but when I made romm I spent so much time watching him that I wasn't looking at the oncoming wall.

I had 2 minor incidents which affected my pit strategy and I think led to my loosing 2rd place to Dude.

I hit Dlr fairly early and suffered front end damage which did affect my tire wear and had to pit a bit earlier than I expected. I should have called a caution but I felt I could continue to run low 28's but I did fall behind Grilled and Dude.

Thanks to Dude's 10 minute pit stop   I got back to the lead which I held for maybe around 20 laps when I had the incident with the wall.

I knew I was not going to catch Grilled when he came out of the pits for the last time ahead of me and had a good 6 laps of better tires than myself.

I was watching my rear outside tire melt away with each lap and also my gas was really low as well and spun out a few times with maybe 2 - 3 laps left.

I didn't think I was going to hold on to 3st but I guess I was far enough ahead to hold on.

I had a really good time and congrats to Grilled on a well run race and very strategic pitting. Good job and also to Dude for no wall humping for 100 laps.

Great race everyone and I look forward to the next installment.

I just wish that I had not screwed up on lap 4 or 5.  A moment of stupidity on my part led to me hitting the outside wall coming out of 4 hard enough to destroy the front right wheel. Which caused me to run straight into the inside wall on the front stretch and leaving me with almost no steering at all and after repairs 1 lap down and right in front of the leaders.  :(

It was a shame since in the middle of the race it seemed while running with dude I had plenty of speed to compete with the front runners, I just could not make up the two laps and I messed up too early to aid in pit strategy.

Towards the end of the race I got my hopes up, thinking that I may have gained enough ground to pass AgentWD for position. With about 20 to go I thought I saw out in the distance Agent's Jag and was ever so slowing reeling him in and pulling Dude with me, only to discover it was Leaf and that Agent was still at least a half a lap ahead.  :'(

Reviewing the replay should be a lot of fun with this one.  8)

Next is 10 laps at Route X, which should be completely different than motegi and at least easier to drive than Daytona. Its also safe to say we will all have to make at least 1 pit stop before the race is over for fuel. Tires won't matter here.

I could be wrong, but I feel like the 787B was not competitive at Motegi due to only having 677 hp, while the other cars all had 700+.

Now, I finished down 4 laps so a fair amount of that blame also goes to my lack of preparation

I'd say about 5% HP and 95% tune related.  My race ready 787B, which also is currently shared, can run consistent 27.9s and 28.0s which is the same that I was doing in the R92 both in race and in practice.  The straight away speed for the 787B appears to be equal to that of the other cars the only difference I found was in the turns.  Turns 1 and 2 the car seems to loose a little bit more speed (1 to 2 mph) compared to the other cars but it seems to make it up in 3 and 4 with the ability to hold a little bit higher speed through those turns.

I've been concerned that the 787B would have a disadvantage at Motegi but all test numbers seemed to confirm that it is not.

Still, based on what I saw at Motegi, with the tuna cup and some other events, I do believe now that a full review of the cars and their balance to each other is warranted. I tested with the change to 2.08 and all cars were within 1 or 2 tenths at all tracks except Indy where they were all within 1 hundredth of a second, using equal settings on all cars, with similar results in offline practice.

I initially thought that the 2.09 update would not make much difference given the extent that I tested the equality of the cars. But after discovering that a few points of rear downforce can increase lap times by a full second, it needs a second or third look.

Wow, you sure don't see that every day. Well actually never  .

Thanks Dlr, I'm really enjoying the series. I have no idea how to tune for route x though. I think a test session may be in order.
