Well, iv been swapping emails with Thrustmaster on my bad gas and clutch potentiometers. They wanted me to send them a video of the pedals in action through the profiler. Thank goodness I made one a few months ago. Since I destroyed one trying to remove it. What will they do? time will tell.

Have you guys heard of the Open Sim Wheel (OSW)?  It's basically a do it yourself wheel that you can buy the parts separately and put it together yourself.  Really cool.  From what I gather it still costs $1200 on the cheap end and much more if you buy a better motor.  It beat out the accuforce and Bodnar wheel in this review:

That is correct. Wheel has been great. Pedals have been going down hill for some time. And now to the point they are un usable. If Thrustmaster wont send me the pots for free I will hold out for the elite pedal set when I can afford them.

It looks like the damper is placed in parallel with the load cell.  That wouldn't be an issue with a spring but it is for a damper.  Essentially it means that the force you push on the brake pedal is not necessarily reflected in how much the brakes are activated, it also depends on how fast you press the brakes.  If you jam on the brakes really quickly, the damper will shield the load cell from the forces initially so won't get as much braking as you should.  In practice, this is a non-issue with the V2s because the damper is really weak.
