So, I officially tried the Virtual Super Resolution option in the AMD driver settings. And, I am very impressed. I am typing out 1080 right now and can read it fairly well, whereas before it was too blocky. Assetto Corsa is able to go to 1080 from 768 with no apparent loss of performance. They boast that you would have same performance as if your monitor were actually capable of the true resolution, but I'm finding that for AC, it did not really make it take a noticable hit compared to the lower resolution. pCARS, however, needs to have some things dialed down to make it work - still haven't found the right mix.
Note - on my PC anyway, Alt+Tabbing away from AC while in a race made the resolution get confused. I found it better to decide make AC the same res as the Desktop, which is why I went back to a 1080 desktop.
Very happy! This, coupled with the secret option in the video.ini file to force it to 8x anti-aliasing, really brings this game up a notch.
(This actually saved some money short-term, because I was thinking hard about a new monitor. Still am, but it's harder to justify now that this is better)
Thanks Brindle and Wiz for brining this up on Fri
