Ok everything is up to date.  Go ahead and start downloading again.

I had some stuff in .rar format and some .7z stuff too.  Those can be a little confusing as they don't open natively in Windows.

All are now regular zip files.

Tutorial coming very soon.

Track installation

- Navigate to the drive where your Steam install is.

- Drill down to the following folder....

- Program Files(x86)\Steam\Steamapps\common\assettocorsa*\content\tracks

- Once you've reached the tracks folder, you should see the tracks that come with the game.  If you see those, you're in the right place.

- Minimize this window if necessary and go open the zip file for the track you want to install.

- Copy the folder contained in the zip.  Paste it into the tracks folder.

That's it!

Side note:  this is the exact same way you install skins, apps, cars, everything.  I can write up specific tutorials for those things, but it should be fairly easy to figure out once you got the tracks installation down pat.

Any questions, just ask.

*I recommend putting a shortcut to this folder somewhere easily accessible.  I have mine on my desktop.  This way you won't have to drill down like that every time you want to install a track.

^ Thanks Wiz.
Even I managed to do it first time, :laugh and the track shows up in the selection.

Now to book some serious time to try out these tracks.

Please note that since the official modding tools have not yet been released from Kunos, some of these mod tracks will have some bugs/issues you may have to deal with.

I'm trying to weed out the ones with big problems and only post ones that I know are working ok.

Most of them do not have AI yet.  Some do.  There is a guy over at the official forums that just made an AI creator app, so more and more will include AI going forward.

If you have trouble getting a particular track to work, try it in either practice or hotlap mode.

Any other questions feel free to ask.  :)

Also, there is a lot of good info scattered all throughout this thread.  At some point in the near future I will gather all the important stuff and add it to the opening post of this thread so it's easy to find.

Coming "soon".

There's a dude over at the official forums with this setup.  He's calling it SuperFOV.

It's downright awesome.

That is awesome.  The issue with it though is that the scene needs to be rendered to compensate for the curved screen or things will be distorted.  How does he get around that?

It looks like he hasn't.  Looks distorted to me.  But a very great idea and well-executed.  I also wonder if using a projector is taking away some of the fidelity of the images, but I think you'd have to see it in person to know for sure.

Either way, it is amazing just how well he's simulated the feel of being inside the car.

He is using some software called Nthusim.

Thanks.  That's expensive software but it's also a very hard thing to do.  I couldn't see how it actually works with a quick visit so I'm not sure if it is just approximating proper warping or if it can get the video card to render the scene properly.  If it works it makes for a really cool setup although I think the rift will be better and at a much cheaper price.
