personally I think that's dumb... the whole point of having a "tree" at all is so you can see that the green is coming at a certain expected time.  Otherwise, why not just have a green light that comes on at random, with no yellows?  It makes no sense for drag, where you want to see how fast a car can get to the 1/4 mile line, not test someone's reaction time (though I know at certain levels of the sport, that is part of the competition)

Did you read the article? The drivers wanted the change. I think i am with the pro drivers on this one. I want the driver to play as much of a role as possible. If not there is less of a contest going on.

pro-drivers? Sure, that's why I said that at "certain levels of the sport that is part of the competition", but when I go to a strip, getting off the line and reaction time is going to taint the results of a speed test which would be the only reason I'd go.  HOpefully this isn't something that all strips will be converting to... just sayin'

if it is just a speed test that must be where we are not seeing eye to eye, as I am thinking of this in terms of racing, I want a contest between the drivers

exactly.  when a pro races a pro, he wants to beat the driver, not just the car.

when a local takes their car to the strip to see how fast it is, he/she is going to want to have a way to know when to drop the clutch.

Ex, I don't think you understand what they're doing with the tree. They are not changing the yellow to green sequence, just the initial start of the yellows. It has no effect on the "countdown" that they have been using for years.

Which reminds me of a change they made a while back. The tree lights use to be incandecent bulbs, they are now LEDs. Just switching from bulbs to LEDs, made the perfect reaction time change, from .400, to .000 just because of the delay an incandecent bulb has before it's fully lit. LEDs light instantly.

Well I am kinda waiting til I get a tower.

Not necessary.

If you're seriously considering putting a tower together, now is the perfect time to buy.   You don't need a PC to buy the game at this discounted price.

Step 1 - Go to https://store.steampowered.com/join/? and create your account.

Step 2 - Go to http://store.steampowered.com/app/244210/ and buy the game.

Step 3 - Wait until your PC is ready

Step 4 - Once your PC is up and going, install the Steam Client and it will download the game for you.

Step 5 - Enjoy the game :)

I know this car is in pretty much every sim around, but this mod, being done by 1 guy, is absolutely fantastic.  It'll be nice to finally drive it with good sounds and good physics.
