Close racing...sometimes it's safe, sometimes not so much. Going two wide through the double left at the start of Rome reverse is only safe if someone gives up the second part...if both cars try to push hard through the second part, there will probably be contact - the inside guy will push a bit to hard and push to the middle of the track to keep speed, or the outside guy will turn in too much to get a better apex ...someone - or both - loses. If someone gives, he is two lengths behind the guy in front, both cars come out alive, and he's set up for a run down the next straight. That's still close racing. You don't have to be side by side every corner to be close or tight or competing. Timing is important to the value of tight racing.
