From some dude over at neogaf.  Relevant bit in yellow.

Well guys, i never had any news to bring, but now i have a story to share with you guys...

I went to the SEMA auto show last month, and only now i´m back home and with free time to write and stuff.

Going past the BMW booth i noticed the M4 pace car with Gran Turismo logos and stoped by to check it. Then i saw a couple of GT booths, and since they had the Thurstmaster 500 i decided to wait in line to drive it.

There was a guy playing it, so i had to wait. As i look to the side i see some guys in black shirts and their credentials read "Sony Santa Monica". A closer look and... TRANSLATOR SAN!!!

He´s an awesome guy, he even said to me "do you want me to bring out my notepad?" and we chatted for a few minutes. I asked where Kaz was because of the awards and his response was "he´s here, actually he´s playing right in front of us".

Really?

Taking a closer look the "guy" i was waiting to finish his demo run was Kazunori Yamauchi himself, and i finally had a chance to meet him and ask a few questions.

I said i was ready to buy the wheel, if i should do it. Before Translator san even translated the phrase he was already nodding his head saying no, that it didn´t make sense since i already had a G25.

1- There will be a new wheel to go along GT7
2 - The G25 will work on PS4, they didn´t told me how, but they assured me it is going to work.

3 - GT7 is one or two years away.

4 - GT Academy is almost certain for Brazil

5 - They know people are asking for more hardcore features and they will implement some of those in GT7

6 - He knows that car leaderboards are missing. I asked about it, he laughed at it and assured me it´s coming, it´s not forgotten.

Overall it was a great day, i never expected to meet him in person and be able to ask a few questions... i regret not getting Translator san´s email so i could bother him with more questions in the future, but hey, it was nice.

So i ended up not buying the wheel and feeling a bit more confident that my beloved leaderboards will one day be back.

I´m not gonna spread this info all over the web because they were nice to me to talk about the wheel and stuff and it might not be a good thing to post things that are not yet open to the general public.

1.15 is now out and is 589 Mb (for two cars and a few bug fixes?).

Supposedly the 2 HD videos are taking up the rest of that 589mb.

There's some Holiday Seasonals, but I haven't been able to find a neat list to steal yet. Prize cars include both VGTs, Stratos, and Jag XJ13.

In a previous update (1.12?), PDI was supposed to let us ignore large video files, such as that, but I wasn't offered a way to ignore them.

I used the XMB way to update for the first time and it was very fast. I noticed a thread today at the GTPlanet that is discussing the same thing.

I do agree patches should be patches, updates should be updates and crap, , cough , cough videos need to be fed from somewhere other than the update tube.

The biggest on-line complaint, right now, is about invisible drivers on track. The indicator of a problem is that, while waiting in the pits, some drivers may not have coloured backgrounds for their list number, on the left of the list. It should be filled in with either blue or green.

The best way of dealing with this, until PDI fix it, is to wait in the pits until everyone syncs up with everyone else. This can take some time. I once saw it take almost two minutes per driver, so be patient. Therefore, using a timed start would not be advisable, under those conditions. In my experience with 1.15, this seems to work best.

There seems to be some help by drivers who can't see each other to leave the lobby and return, but that may also mean that syncing needs to restart again.

PDI has been made aware of this issue and I am assured that they will deal with it.

Well there you go Boston. We can try having everyone hold in the pits until all are seen. It would be a good time to refresh a drink or use the bathroom.

Thank you very much MGT!

I do use a timer for races.  I'll experiment with everyone syncing up/ staying in the pits before I start the race.

Fingers crossed the maintenance on Christmas Eve is to fix this BS.

Thanks again,
Frustrated in Portland.

Last night, I found that the indicator is that players could be out on the track and they were not listed as being on the track or in the pits with a full listing in the drivers list. If a driver who was listed came into the pit lane, then syncing had to start all over again. I, as the host, was able to see this because I stayed in the pits. I don't know if others can see the same thing.

PDI would like a video, if I can arrange one, but I would need a group to participate in the experiment (at this time of year...). PDI is also on holidays until January 5th, so it isn't as if they will be doing a lot of QA testing until after then. If we can help make a video, then maybe we can get help sooner, though.
