a few tips after getting a chance to make a couple of them.

Tight corners
there is a feature where holding a piece of track in the editor brings up a sub-menu.  choosing "decrease turn radius" makes the piece thinner, and can then be manipulated with nearby pieces to go into tighter turns.  Using this on several neighbor pieces makes tighter hairpins possible.

Placing extra anchors lets you manipulate more points to try and get control over the shape of a corner.  It lets you maximize the space the editor lets you use, which is the limit at which the pieces and their run-off areas would start to overlap, it seems.

I too used curbing very liberally.  :)

I managed to make one that has some 90deg turns and a rather tight hairpin, and still at average width (Shared).  It might be worth checking out.

Tablet is really great for this, sorry no offense to anyone left out.  But it really is extremely intuitive and fast to be sitting in your rig, tablet on lap, and go through each corner making changes.  A simple exit to race menu lets you reload your very latest tweaks.

I definitely agree that there are a lot of frustrating limitations to it though.  Would be nice if they weren't there...

  • very limited placement of scenery
  • no individual corner banking (global for whole track)
  • track width is global
  • limited control over elevation / random elevation on "flat" Eifel.
  • scenery doesn't look very good

...but it does make some fairly good tracks so far in my opinion.

Thank you for the radius note. I had no clue what that actually did. When I did it, I didn't see any change in the track. I'll try to use that feature right now!

Yes, this is a good app. I like that you can save multiple tracks  on a tablet and transfer them later. You can copy them, make changes and save them. It definitely has good features.

Unfortunately, Gran Turismo 6 doesn't have a track creator/editor. When I'm using GT6 on my PS3, I can't create a track.

Another tip I found is converting straights to curves.  In order to fully utilize a "decrease turn radius" the before and after anchors also need to be "decrease turn radius".  Straights do not have that option, so if you need a straight with a "decrease turn radius", draw you straight first, then convert it to a curve and finally "decrease turn radius".

Yes, I like the ability to convert straights to curves, curves to straights, and add and delete anchors.

trying to post a screen...

sweet it works!  (go to your community page on website, right-click on the pic of your track, and "copy image URL or link or whatever".  Should be a good way to showcase what you've done. (as long as others can see it too, can you?)

(this is the one referenced in previous post, with some pretty tight turns.)

EDIT: Added link to make it clickable

Carolina Motorsports Park.....Road Course

The have a kart track as well, but the editor isn't capable of making it, with the forced long straight.

The straight with the start/finish is too long, so I had to up the track image size. It made the track a half mile longer than the real thing. Other than that, and a couple corners needing to be slightly tighter, it's a pretty good representation.

Cannot use this on my tablet or my phone thanks for nothing PD you are a bunch of fucking assholes.

Are either of them Android?

The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S5 I am relatively certain that is Android or am I mistaken? The tablet is a Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus 7.0. I think it is Android as well but when I look at the page for the app on either one it says the app is not compatible.  ::) It would seem as just being an Android device is not enough it needs to be one the newer devices.

Baked, that's the same phone I have.
Go to this link from your phone or the tablet, and download the apk file in the OP.
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/course-maker-apk.335149/#post-11002723

I had trouble getting the track app to work directly from the store. What did work was accessing it from the playstation/gran turismo site. There's a goople play button there, that'll take you to the app. Worked with no fuss.

GT site link...
http://www.gran-turismo.com/us/products/gt6/trackpatheditor/

That should be all you need to get it going.

Went directly to the gt site hit install get a popup that says "this app is incompatible with all of your devices"

To the phone or tablet? Would prefer the tablet for the larger screen but not sure if the OS is too old or some other issue? Are y'all sure it is safe from viruses or other such crap?

Do it on your tablet.

It's virus free.  I've done it on both my phone and my tablet.

Tried on the tablet three different ways keeps telling me when I go to install there is a problem in parsing the package.

Try this...

Enable the 'Unknown Sources' Option

1.  On your tablet, go to Settings
2.  Find Security
3.  Make sure there is a checkmark next to "Unknown Sources"
4.  Try again.

If that doesn't work (or if the checkmark was already there), I'm not sure what to tell you besides that you have the worst luck when it comes to this kind of shit.

If you can't get it to work, we could try TeamViewer (similar to what we did in the past on PC).
