Not GT related but I did a quick U-toob search to find a video of a real car doing the hill climb:

Porsche 911 Carrera S Goodwood Hill Climb 2012

Looks like an interesting course, I suspect it'll probably end up getting used for something like the Rally "Special Events" we have in GT5 and not much else given how short it is though :(.  But maybe it'll turn out to be a sign of possible new features like more point to point / hillclimb type tracks and events in the game as well as the ability to use them online somehow, kind of like we did our own 1 lap rally stage timed event not that long ago.

Maybe we ought to do one of those again but perhaps on some course maker tracks, maybe some kind of tight Toscana and Mt. Asshol tracks in stock / lower powered / older cars.

A hill climb? WTF? Can we get more race tracks? Please?

It could be a prelude to announcing the actual Goodwood circuit, since they had the team there to scan the hill climb track one would hope that they'd have the good sense to do the circuit as well given it's history.  They're probably specifically announcing the hill climb track right now since I think that's the one the Festival of Speed is centered on.

Ok, I'd be down with Pikes Peak, especially if it lets me drive my Evo off a cliff.     :laugh

I was thinking of a Goodwood festival of speed special event if they included the road course.  That would be freaking awesome.  I remember watching a race on TV that had a hundred million of dollars worth of old Ferraris racing.  These guys race hard enough that they do crash sometimes.  Imagine crashing your $10 million Ferrari.

Ok, the video of the 911 on the hill climb looks like fun ... but ... how would you race on this track? It's kind of a single car, do it once, kind of thing.

I'd be much happier to hear that they took all that track scanning gear down to COTA or any of the tracks they've skipped across the US, Europe, Asia, South America, you name it.

And here's a hot sports opinion for you ... when was the last time anyone drove a rally car / track in GT5? I'd rather see them release a dedicated rally game, myself. More high speed / wide tracks please. More historic F1 tracks please (the Goodwood one sounds interesting). Etc. Don't need snow, ice, dirt, mud, manure, gravel, surface of the moon  / low gravity, or any other tricked up nonsense. IMHO.

Goodwood FoS is more a rolling car show than anything else. I did read somewhere about an old F1 car holding a time record there of about 41 seconds.

In game, I'm seeing it as being a good photo location.

Personally I'd rather have a drag strip (maybe even with the option of "pink slip" races) than a hill to climb...  IMHO.  YMMV.

A pinks idea sounds fun, although it would be a pretty obvious way around trading the high value cars.

I done foudn this on the GTPLanet:

GT6 Concept Movie #3 2013 Goodwood - Extended Version

Neat looking Goodwood video, Wizard will like their choice of car :D.  As videos go it sort of has that "pre-rendered" quality rather than direct gameplay footage and the sound is suspiciously good, but it's still a nice little video :).

I think a lot of what I see in GT6 Academy Demo is shaping up to be a great game released later (or soon, as it were)

there are things not so great about the demo, but sufficing to say, it is not meant to showcase the future game so much as it is meant to showcase Nissan and Academy...

Maybe we'll get another demo before release?  Or maybe this demo with transform into a better one?

But man, the driving physics, crash physics (not damage), presentation of the menus, and so much more is really a welcome change.

Last night on Academy, I found myself just driving without thinking about being in a game.

In other words, it felt so real that it might as well have been!

Man I really wish that hill climb was longer.  If it was, it's all I'd ever do.

Still looking forward to it anyway.

Here's another GT6 Goodwood video, someone recording someone else doing the Hill Climb TT thing in a Deltawing:

gt6 demo goodwood fos 2013 deltawing

Looks interest, probably be fun in a Triumph Spitfire or something :).
