Here is a reply from Scaff over at GTPlanet.  Scaff seams to know quite a bit about auto physics.

If you get the chance to watch Best Motoring videos, you will see some drivers using the handbrake in slow corners and slides to point the nose.

On touge runs yes you would be right, in a very tight hairpin then the handbrake can be quicker, on a circuit however its not going to be.

These are drivers that race in Super GT, Le Mans, F3.

Yet when they race in Super GT, Le Mans and F3 your not going to see them using the handbrake (and most of these racing classes don't even have handbrakes) or deliberately initiating slides (which would get you black-flagged).

The quickest way around a corner is to have all four tyres right on their slip angle limit and the use of a handbrake or slide will always take you over that limit.

It also looked like there is some form of livery editor/modifier type thing going on.  I noticed two three different cars in blue with some funky non-production strips.  One was a viper, ford focus and a Zitza or however you spell it.  The one with the 4 flip up head lights.

If you look carefully at those stripes, it's the 15rd anniversary thing. I bet those are the pre-order cars, and not from a livery editor.

I hope that there is some new features to the game.  I don't think we have heard any new features yet.  I hope these concept cars aren't what PD considers a major new feature.  A concept car or two is kind of cool.  I liked how the X2010 kind of showed what a car could do if we didn't have to worry about rules.  Concept cars that were in actual auto shows is kind of neat.  But a whole slew of concept cars that was specifically designed for GT6 is kind of dumb.

Be interesting to see what new things we learn, though I'm not holding my breath for any groundbreaking announcements.  Not that I wouldn't appreciate finding out something groundbreaking, I'm just not going to get all giddy with expectation because we'll probably just get some new screenshots / videos and maybe some hints about what'll come out at the next "big show".
