MGT was endurance races ever mentioned for GT6 by PD beyond the 20 and 24 minutes races already in the game?  I'm under the impression that PD decided people do not want long races and that all the endurance speculation was fan created.

Well, let's take a look. At http://www.gran-turismo.com/us/products/gt6/, the remaining missing features are listed at the bottom and no endurance races are listed. I guess I was misled along with a lot of other endurance fans.  If I remember correctly, on-line races can be set for 199 laps. I don't know of a time limit.

Ah, okay well that's what I was wondering.  I just assumed that GT6 wasn't ever supposed to have races longer than those 24 min advanced timing ones.

Which I think is lame, but so be it.  I'd much rather get new cars and a track creator than endurance events added.

I think b-spec and endurance races (the traditional kind) are linked now, in PD's mind.  Probably because they want to make sure that we can trade spots so "bob" can do a stint.  Maybe they shelved b-spec and we're not getting enduros?  Or, maybe MGT's right, and we'll get it this year?

GT still has the best overall package as far as game combined with sim racer.  However, we have yet to see what one company's final product will be like, so that could no longer be true, very "soon".

Personally, I'll be where my friends are, and if they keep playing GT, that's where I'll be.  If they are in three games, then that's where I'll be.

is this all they had for an update to compete with pCARS, or is it a chunk of what they were planning, and only to give us something while we wait for more?  only time will tell.

But I agree it does seem like a decent update.  New tracks are always welcome!

A lot of talk about paintable spoilers and a fancy new track.  but ZERO talk about when we might see these things.  I heard version 1.16 and not the big 2.0.  Rumor mill is at full tilt.

I'm excited.  Not as much as some.  I like the track, I don't love it.

Also, news at the Planet shows B-Spec photos from GT6.  It appears that that is in the works as well.

I'm in a similar boat. The new track is a welcome addition.  It will get me back in the game for at least a few days to try it out with my favorite cars. B-spec, I reserve judgment on it.  It’s all going to depend on its execution and/or integration. As for the painted wings, yes actually I think it’s a good thing and to a very small extent it does matter.  It at least shows me they are continuing to increase the customizability of the cars.  I admit it’s not a full livery editor but with GTs graphic level a full editor may be beyond what the PS3 can handle do to memory constraints. It gives at least a little bit of hope for the future. I know its not for everyone but I think it does matter to a lot of people.  Personally I'd be happy if I could paint the bird and trim on the 78 Trans-Am.

I can't at this point say anything negative about the update other than this. How is/was this supposed to keep people from jumping ship and moving to Project Cars? And how long have they been sitting on these just so they'd have something ready to go in time for Project Cars release? If you want to consider it negative.
