Well I may get to join the track building crowd.  I think I've found a tablet.  The Nextbook Ares 8" Tablet.  Its at Wally World for $78.  According to GT planet it works with the app and I think the screen is big enough I can use it for more things than the track app.  At least hopefully the WEC app. :)

I'm going to go check it out tonight after work.

Maybe I can start building my version of Limerock Park, Road Atlanta, and a few of my own personal creations like Tuna Park.

Good news! You will not bother turning on Fox after you have the WEC app.

And it appears they did the original layout.  I'll have to look into getting that.

I've been reading a little bit over at the planet and its more robust that I thought.  You can use GPS data, and Google earth images to help create tracks. Also someone found that it was possible to affect the terrain by using multiple anchor points.  (what ever those are)

Yeah, for the CMP track I made. I traced over an image of the track map, I got from their website.

So no COTA due to creator restrictions. Oh well.

I saw a video of this one.  It's not bad considering the limitations of the editor.

I wonder what the GPS dtaa actually does.  Does it only provide a reference for you to attempt to draw over, or does it actually obey the path that the GPS data says it should?

Also, update on my "Decrease Radius" finding - I forgot to note that when used, no items can be placed around those sections of track.  If you use this technique on your whole  track for instance, and then want to add items, find parts of the track that will probably not be broken by changing them back to "Increase radius", then place items there.

Also, also, curbing pieces seem to be different sizes on the different templates :(  Some are way too huge, and leave you needing to curb too large of a section, even if you only wanted to provide a little bit of "off protection" in a spot.

Hmmm, last night I transferred a track and test ran it today.  Saved it and thought I was good to go.
Tried to transfer another track today and I repeatedly get "Transfer failed".  What am I doing wrong here?  What step or steps am I missing.
Worked flawlessly the first time.  I don't get it.
Thanks.

Try this...
Quote
Here is what I do when I get transfer failed:

1. Restart the iPad(or whatever device)
2. Start the app.
3. Log on inside the app (if I'm already logged on I log out first).

That usually does the trick, but if it still doesn't work, just wait for a while and try again later.

Multiple people said this worked for them. Could be server overload too.

Gotta love this place!

Ask and ye shall receive.  Thanks Chrome.  It worked.

So far, I hate the tracks I've made.  First one was waaaaaay to wide.  Second one was wider than I would have liked and had some very odd off camber, blind dips.  Spun out every single time I encountered them :adam:

At least it's easy to make 'em
