GT on the big screen?
« on: July 24, 2013, 03:39:30 PM »

Apparently ( http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/07/24/gran-turismo-movie-in-development ) Sony has greenlit a Gran Turismo movie... ???

There's a lot of details still to be uncovered, but right now, I don't see this working too well. Video Game > Movie adaptations have worked so wonderfully in the past  :D

I like the quote at the end of the article:

"Of course, whether De Luca and Brunetti will inject some erotic romance into the picture remains to be seen".

Wouldn't that be called "AUTO EROTICA"?

someone at the deathstar commented that it might be subtitled "50 Shades of MX-5"

there's quite a funny discussion going on  here.

I can't think of anything good coming from this, except learning through experience.

GT-TV was such a success that they had to do a movie?  ::)

ideally, they could prove that a game-based movie doesn't have to royally suck.

realistically, it will suck, and bring more kiddies to the open lobbies... yay   :o

Thus bringing more youngins that don't have any clue WTF a furry is to my rooms. *Facepaw* You guys i'm fine with because i can educate without any stupid comments but those little kids make me want to do some death rolls. :p

Lesson: Little runts are bad for online gaming. Even my boyfriend knows this from first hand... or paw experience... whatever Lombaxes have.

How can this translate to the big screen?  You need characters.  We dontz have many characters.  Simon Vettel and the NASCAR dude is about it.

Unless...  (Guess I will save that thought till I have a lobby open and we can have a coffee talk.  Unless I get too verklempt.)

Ooh, I had another idea what it could be about.. it could end up being a Tron style movie!

Robert B. Speck was messing with some kind of virtual reality cockpit for the latest Gran Turismo game when he somehow digitizes himself and gets drawn into a virtual world!  Finding himself stuck in a lounge with an assortment of AI drivers waiting to race he discoveries the only way he can escape is to become a champion virtual car driver.

Nicknamed B-Spec Bob by the other AI our hero must race through various events in order to beat a mysterious "Player" and secure a ride back to reality, lest he become trapped in an endless cycle of Sunday Cup races at the wheel of a Nissan Leaf!
