Announcing the 2014 Classic European Sports Car Tour of...Europe.  Harking back to a time when vehicle safety features were optional and sports cars weighing over 2,000lbs were considered heavy, the Wolfpack International Motorsports Pact (or WIMP, for short) brings you a competition amongst some classic sports cars that, in some instances, have been overshadowed by other contemporary greats.  During this 2 month affair we will visit many of the western European countries that spawned such fine vehicles…and swing through Spain as well.  In order to get a full experience of how these old machines handle modifications will be severely limited and only permitted in the interest of parity.  So let’s get started…

The vehicles
’72 '73 Alpine A110 1600S - 715 kg, 144 hp
’72 Lotus Europa Special – 730 kg, 132 hp
’65 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA 1600 – 745 kg, 163 hp
’71 Dino 246 GT – 1080 kg, 140 155 hp (referring to this car as a Ferrari is technically incorrect)
’73 BMW 2002 Turbo – 1080 kg, 176 hp

Mandatory modifications
Alpine – none
Europa – none
Giulia Sprint – all engine boltons to achieve 163 hp
Dino – engine detuned to 140 hp
2002 Turbo – stock 4sp transmission replaced with fixed gear 5sp transmission (NOT the custom ratio transmission)
Ballast position for all cars set to center

Racing Regulations
Sport hard tires only
Mandatory pit stops
ABS set to 1, otherwise no driver aid assists
Track penalties off
Damage weak
Drafting real
Fuel/Tire consumption very fast
False start penalty On

Series Rules

 2nd –50kg
 3rd – 25kg
Penalty ballast placed in center of vehicle

6-7 races total: 3 consecutive Wednesdays, a one week break, than 3-4 consecutive Wednesdays

Since it looks like two BMW 2002s have already been claimed I'll just go with the Alfa :).

I don't recall offhand what my Alfa came out at with the mods or if I did an oil change or not but I just noticed a small discrepancy in the first post regarding the HP:

The vehicles
’65 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA 1600 – 745 kg, 163 hp

Mandatory modifications
Giulia Sprint – all engine boltons to achieve 155 hp

..  while typing it occured to me that 155hp may be just mods and 163hp might be with an oil change too (or after some engine break in, assuming that happens in GT6 of course LOL).  Not a big deal either way but I just thought I'd mention it in case I'm doing some wrong :).

Feldynn, that horsepower discrepancy was due to sloppiness on my part.  The 155 hp figure was pre-oil change.  The 163 is the correct, and "post-oil change" figure.

It must be one heck of a holiday, if a one day holiday lasts for a week. :P

Race 1, at Silverstone International, will be 31 laps.

Also note that we will be utilizing "very fast" tire wear, instead of previously stated "fast".
