Motorsport Streams
« on: May 04, 2014, 01:59:35 AM »

Now that it's racing season, here are a few decent ways to find internet streams for whatever it is you're looking for.

First up is LiveTV.sx  Now that WiziWig has been shut down, this is by far the best replacement I've found.

Another option is making good use of Reddit.  Here are the subreddits of some of the more popular series.

WEC - http://www.reddit.com/r/wec
DTM - http://www.reddit.com/r/dtm
F1 - http://www.reddit.com/r/formula1
SuperGT - http://www.reddit.com/r/super_gt
BTCC - http://www.reddit.com/r/btcc/
IMSA WeatherTech - http://www.reddit.com/r/USCR
V8 Supercars - http://www.reddit.com/r/v8supercars/
Indycar - http://www.reddit.com/r/INDYCAR
WTCC - http://www.reddit.com/r/wtcc/

These Reddit links aren't direct links to streams, but you'll almost always find a thread there that will have a good link to one.

I'd say the Reddit route may be the best way to go.

I recommend running an adblocker in your browser before visiting streaming sites, as quite a few of them contain intrusive ads/popups.

Any questions, just ask. :)

Thanks a bunch Wiz. Live sporting events are about all I really miss from giving up cable a while back.

This site is pretty good for finding streams for all sorts of sports: http://atdhe.eu/
Sometimes you have to try a few out to find one that works well.

A few that I use.

SCCA World Challenge - http://www.world-challengetv.com/

Shows live coverage and old videos.

IMSA, ALMS, Grand Am - http://www.imsa.com/series/united-sportscar/tv-episodes

has older races and recent races.

IMSA from the 80s - http://www.grandtouringprototype.com/

For a variety of historic races - http://www.motorsportworld.tv/

You have to register but you don't have to pay and they don't send junk mail.

Did you miss watching a race this year that you wanted to see?

There's an android app that tells you what's going on around the globe every weekend.  It's not the prettiest app around but it gets the job done.
