================
Class in Session
================

La Grande Menagerie, or more accurately (for our purposes) the beasts of Gran Turismo :).  This week we're running a free for all, tune as you please event with a central theme of "Animals".  The only cars allowed must have a direct or indirect reference to some kind of animal (real or well documented fictional) in their manufacture / model name and common nicknames, the emblem itself, have other kind of animal name / image on them and be non-race cars.  Obvious candidates by name are Jaguars, Mustangs, Vipers and such.  For make / model emblems you have marques such as Ferrari (the prancing horse) and Lamborghini (the raging bull), though there are others out there that also fit the bill quite nicely!

Here's a sort of FAQ that might help!

Q:  Hey Feldynn, this RUF BTR is a real pig to drive so that counts right?
A:  No, nice try but no.  However the RUF Yellowbird IS allowed due to "bird" in the name

Q:  I painted my car "Elephant Gray" so I can bring that right?
A:  Hahahaha, NO.  Again good try but no

Q:  Say, I heard there are various types of bird in the "Martin" family so Aston Martin counts right?
A:  Yes they do and well done, that's a perfect example of what I mean!

Hopefully this all makes sense to everyone :), like I say both real and fictional animals are allowed so cars like the Pontiac Firebird are acceptable as a Firebird is technically a Phoenix, there were a Fiat Unicorn that'd count too.  Some cars like the Suzuki Swift (swift being a type of bird) or Abarths (scorpion emblem) would count but won't make the spec for this race, here's a quick list of cars / makes I've identified as acceptable but there are probably others I've missed.. if anyone can think of others that seem good please bring them and / or post here too for funsies :).

A/C Cars / Shelby Cobra (cobra)
Aston Martin (Martin is a bird)
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (fish related)
Dodge / SRT Charger (Charger was a type of war horse)
Dodge / SRT Viper (snake)
Ferrari (prancing horse logo)
Ford Mustangs (horse)
Holden (lion logo)
Jaguar (big cat)
Lamborghini (bull logo)
Pontiac Firebird (phoenix / bird in the name)
Pontiac GTO (aka "Goat")
RUF Yellowbird (bird in the name)
Cizeta V16T '94 (3 animal head logo)

I'm sure that's not everything but it's a good selection to get started with and can be added to :).

Beetles and bugs of all shapes and sizes would certainly qualify Dude, though I'm not sure the Veedubya family have one that would make 545PP do they?  If I can find enough smaller cars we may do a "Petting Zoo" edition for those less beastly ones :D.

Also I just remembered that the Cizeta qualifies under the "animal emblem" clause as it appears to have 3 animal heads (possibly cat or wolf related) as part of the logo, should anyone be desperate enough to try that one :lolz.

Could 'RUF' be considered part of the canine language, making it animal related?

Not that I really want to drive one of those pigs.

A rescued horse named Chevelle, that's a win in my book Dude.  Bit more tenuous a link than I'd like for the most part but it's a rescued animal so I'll happily allow it :).

I think the Redbulls are all race cars, but if there's a regular or tuner car with the Red Bull decal on it that'd be fine so long as it's not a full blown race car.

Great racing, goos times. Loved the Boss and F430. The Shelby Cobra was an interesting one.
