The mighty Group C race cars that once ruled the streets of Le Mans may be gone, but they will never be forgotten. The monstrous speed of these cars is more or less the reason 2 chicanes were added to the Mulsanne straight in 1990. Modern prototype cars are now more focused on fuel economy rather than speed, thus despite all the R&D spent on these modern vehicles they still cannot match the awesomeness of the Group C era.
