integrated phone; android apps; social media; twitter...

Hopefully they remember what we use a playstation for (playing games online with friends) and make sure that works too.

Playstation 4:  it only does EVERYTHING but play games...

:laugh

No kidding. They can barely keep a console's online gameplay going, now they want to spread it to multiple devices.  ^-^

It's just one step closer to the Singularity.

Ahh the Nintendo Singularity:  The gravity of this console is overwhelming, it's so powerful it truly sucks!

Nobody has said what the qualifying criteria was. As far as I can see, they just kept it simple - random. That way they don't discriminate and it should evenly spread the joy even among non-active players.

YMMV

True that MGT...

They never even showed the console casing or mentioned the price - but being based on PC-architecture, just what does a fairly "high-end" PC system cost?

And is that "high-end" in Sony's venacular?  Because I know in mine, "high-end" costs about 4-5x what a PS3 does...    :o

From what little hardware info I saw the other day I would imagine $450 would be a reasonable price, looking at it from a PC component angle and based on just a brief look at some online parts prices.

Of course I probably wouldn't want to spend more than about $350 for a new console, $400 at most for a launch one.. I'm halfway expecting the PS4 to come in somewhere in the $400-$500 range at launch though I would hope it'll be cheaper.

It'll have to be below $300 before I'll even consider getting one. My first ps3, was bought by someone else when they were still $400+/-, no way would I have forked that out. By the time that one died, they were $300, and I bought my current one, but even then, it was the wife and I both paying for it.

If that's the case, then I am way skeptical about it being "high-end"...

My guess is $500 at launch.  And they'll be losing money at that price.

Anime Tentacle Porn - indeed!   But then, that's WHY y'all didn't get any cash prizes!

Funny link Dude!  :laugh  Do you surf for that when the family is out of the house?  ;) :D

Seriously, I honestly cannot understand why I seem to be the only person who has received the XMB Message with the gift code in it.  :-\  What is it that you guys are doing wrong?  I mean, last month, I only spent about $200 on hellfire games ripoffs (J/K).

If you look at some of the offers on PS Home, you'll see why Sony makes Huge bucks - they make it on the Kids who prey on their parents to buy them stuff from the PS Store.

I got one too Allstar, so you're not alone :).  On the downside I had to do a PSN Store update to redeem the stupid thing, hadn't looked at it in a while and OMG it's :fucking awful now.. it's hideous, or worse even!
