Even though it's a completely unnatural beast, I've actually had a couple of fun sessions with it. During some practice once at Autumn Ring - one of my least favorite tracks - and at Sarthe after the last GT300/500 race. Both times, about 4 guys ended up on track for free runs trying to beat the others' lap times, or just improve on their own. Good Times.

So that's twice I've driven it online, and I think I have yet to use it for A/B spec (I haven't done any of the really long endurace races). That's about the same amount as I've driven the 3 open wheeled (Formula) cars altogether.

edit...I've noticed that 'throttle in corners = faster cornering' in the FGT also, and I think it was really apparent in GT4. The only reasoning is can propose is that faster speeds creates more downforce, so if you have super good tires on a super light car, GT physics gives you better cornering at higher speeds (to a point, anyway) Random Example ... A corner that you push wide through at 100 can be taken very easily at 120. It's called P.D. Physics.

I just put my $5 million in the books. It was so not-challenging that it's almost like Kaz is giving us some "walking around money" to go shopping with on Tuesday.  :-*

If it was the prototype I would take it...  (mssing that one)

The game has been out long enough that most of us are level 35 (or our b-spec guys are) and above.  The game gives it to you at achievment of level 35....

If you are willing to do the borrowed car glitch, you can have my prototype.  Let me know and I'll put it online.

I do not know of this glitch.  will need to research...

EDIT:  wouldn't work for me...    My save file is too big...

Q. Can anybody do this?
A. Anybody who has a save file that is smaller than 4165KB.

Q. Why does the game save have to be smaller than 4165KB?
A. If your save file is larger than that, when you start the game up after sponging and downloading the patches you will have no cars or tickets in your garage.

Are you describing the old bug that was solved in 1.06?

I think this is a newer glitch but I've never tried it and don't know much about it.  It looks like it is more trouble than it is worth but if anyone wants to try it, I have every car available.  It's too bad that you can't give cars away.  I was checking to see if I had low mileage versions of the cars in the OCD and found that I already had 3 Pescarolo Judd 05 cars. 2 with 0km.

I did the borrow glitch once. (basically, borrow a car, delete game data (the game install/updates), go into game and change cars (do NOTHING else), reinstall updates) There are problems, some of which can be avoided. Pictures, replays, and created tracks get deleted, so they need to be exported first (I forgot) The unavoidable problems, to my knowledge, are that some garage thumbnails get deleted, and it takes time. I also made the mistake of accepting a gift car and getting in it or viewing it in my garage. It wasn't a special car, but something about it (perhaps the gold chrome paint) made it invalid to the game (before restoring updates) when I viewed it. So now, one of my games has a car in it that is unusable. I can't get in it, sell it, tune it....nothing.

I wouldn't recommend it, especially with the easy money that's available these days. The only 2 cars I can't get yet are the normal X2010 and the Prototype don't think I'm hurting because of that.

About the X2010 Time Trial...with a gold time of 1'25, it's actually quite a bit easier than the special event Vettel Challenge, where Suzuka requires 2 laps around 2'20, or ~1'10 each. I managed a 1'07 in the Seasonal and 2'14 in the Special Event - Red Bull Vettel Challenge, still 3 second off the silver time.

I hope it's not just 11 NASCAR cars to go shopping for. Well, there's that GT-R race car, maybe some (tuned) cars used in the GT Academy? How about the LMP2 Nissan that Lucas Ordonez drives, or one of the Z cars that the other guys have been driving? That might be cool. Speculation is decent entertainment.

Ran the X2010 special event last night and was quickly reminded why I never drive this car. I was able to gold by a few seconds which is all I was after. I watched the replay for the guy in 2th in order to see how one should drive these cars.  :o

I got my 5 mill on two accounts this morning. I was around 1:17 when I stayed on the track. Suzy is much better when the lap time is shorter.  :D

Found this just now..

http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/products/gt5/dlc/

Interesting points to note include:

Track pack = SPA, looks like the full course plus short variations (so similar to the Nurburgring set we have already)

and Kart Space, which actually looks kinda cool..

Cars = 12 assorted "Touring Cars" (seem like generic RM versions) + 3 go karts (looks like 3 different power / class karts)

Down side of the car pack.. 4 of the 12 are GT-R race cars, like we really needed those ::), I did have to chuckle over the Toyota Prius Touring Car though I think it might actually be ok.

Looks like I was right about the racing gear pack, there are a bunch of Nascar suits but in all fairness there is a crapton of other designs and schemes that don't look bad if you like that sort of thing.

So, the DLC price of $12 / package / account will add up for those with multiple accounts.
