I hope they are fixing the bug you are having issues with Feldynn.  The lock up screens you have been getting (the sheer amount of them) would make me quit the game.

Well, PD is going to have us offline for nine (9) hours Thursday (Smart move PD - Right after you release the Seasonal Evnets on Wednesday). Do ANY of those Morons know what they're doing?

I just hope that the bugs we all have been getting in our online play are corrected this time around.  I got temporarily locked up right before a shuffle race and missed it on Sunday - twice.  >:(   The quality of their internet service needs some attention. There's Nothing wrong with my internet service - speed or otherwise.  C'mon PD, get your act together.  What I'd REALLY like to say is:  :-X

I have a feeling.. a tiny hunch that the lock ups of GT5 are what's causing the recent lockup of my PS3. I just hope this hunch is true.

I have a word of encouragement......can you say, "Vacuum"?

I do this weekly to keep the dust out of the PS3 ....... So far I have not seen any parts coming out of the vents.  :o

the system freeze-ups probably ahve more to do with the recent firmware update, as I had two freezes immediately after updating my PS3.  I saw a thread on PSN about that and commented on it.

as far as this maintenance, we should be encouraged.  this is one of the largest if not THE largest (planned) outages they've done.  Usually it's an hour or two, this time it's nine hours!  THey must be beefing it up something significant.

that is not to suggest it will work when they get it up, but at least they are doing something to make our experience better.

While this isn't technically GT5 specific news it will affect any GT5 activities (any anything online) on Thursday 1rd March..

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/02/27/playstation-network-regular-scheduled-maintenance-on-thursday/

PlayStation Network Regular Scheduled Maintenance on Thursday

+ Posted by Patrick Seybold // Sr. Director, Corporate Communications & Social Media

PlayStation Network will undergo a significant maintenance period on Thursday, March 1st. Maintenance is expected to start at just after 8:00 am Pacific and will last for several hours, until approximately 10pm Pacific. Unlike typical maintenance events, consumers who are already signed-in to PSN will be signed-out, and consumers will be unable to sign in for the duration of the maintenance window. During this time, users won’t be able to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, Account Management or play online.

PSN enabled websites will not be able to service users, including this one. Please stay tuned to the PlayStation Twitter feed for a notice when PSN is fully back online.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Hurray for 14 or so hours of maintenance!  I hope it'll be productive..

Good thing I have a lot of Special Events to do under my Dude alt. Oh Boy! AMG Driving Academy. On the plus side I am getting to know the green hell a bit better.

The screen refresh frame rate drops in online races

Using the voice chat feature during online races by 12 or more players may reduce the screen refresh frame rate.

In this case you may want to try turning the voice chat feature OFF to improve this condition.

I don't think some could function with the voice chat turned off.   :laugh

From the official Sony Twat..

Update: Tomorrow's scheduled PSN maintenance has been postponed. We'll update everyone once it's rescheduled. Until then, game on.

Ok this is new.  Well at least to me.  I just logged in to GT5 and out of no where I have a new item section called special outfits.  I've got 12 real driver suits like Dale Jr., Tony Stewart, and some rally drivers I'm not familiar with.  When did this start???
