I see your point Turbo. I also think it is nice they did something for us schleps that completed it, but had no hope of winning anything. So I look at this seasonal as a PD thank you to us.

I have to agree that this was a smart move.

They finally have a special event using limited content, but they allow us to lend the cars to players who couldn't otherwise access the Academy. There is no real downside.

I'm surprised we can borrow them. That makes it an OK setup. As long as everyone who has the game can run the event.

I had assumed you couldn't share any of the Academy cars because of their "special" nature, but for what it's worth I have shared out my special ed. Nissan Leaf in case anyone wants to use it for the evnets and I'll do the same with each subsequent car / event as they're added :).

Academy Leaf shared check.

PD has a lot of great ideas, and a lot of horrible ideas, and they don't seem to stick to either of them consistently.

Hmmm... Don't see a problem with what PD is doing here.  If you ran the Academy evnets, then they give you a bonus for doing so.  If not, well why whine about it?  Why does everyone have to be able to run any evnet at all times, just can't see where it's unfair?  If that's the case, let's say we have "exclusive content" like say cars... Then under fairness to everyone... all cars must be available to each and every one of us ... so no exclusive content, no bonus for anything, such as buying the CE edition etc.
Really, if you didn't run it... you miss out, should be simple and acceptable... lolol... but wait, they allow sharing of these Academy won cars... so everything is now "fair", though those that ran it to get the cars, well really didn't have to... where is the incentive in that?

Honestly, if you didn't run it... well you should miss out... PD should stick to that policy, it would make interest higher in these "special" evnets like the Academy and would actually mean something in game.  I think PD kind of wuss out on this one.

That was my thinking too. Then it was mentioned the cars could be shared and I thought that was a wonderful idea.

But other than add power Croonah, did you do other mods? For those who mess with weight and Aero, results may vary.
Nope.....the way you set up the car, it is not necessary to mess with the settings....I wouldn't get it to go any faster, especially the way I drive,

I will make the cars available for tuning onloine in my GTallstar account.  Anyone who wants to use/tune them for the "special evnets" is welcome.  They will be "equipped" for the special evnet and the tune will be up to you.   ;) That way, everyone who is on my friends list can partake in the special evnets even if they don't have the cars. :D

(As we receive cars, I will rotate the stock to keep the cars "current" with the evnets)

Kudos to the sharing folks. My blue leaf with special badges is also shared, with a tune that I like to think is good. It has no weight reduction, just tuned suspension.

This is an expert level race event using cars built on or before 1969. Cars can be tuned up to 500PP, and tires are limited to comfort/soft or less. A "Performance Difference Bonus" system rewards cars with lower PP. For example, winning with a 450PP car will roughly double the reward.
