this was actually FUN!!!     The Miata is a "great little car"...    Ah, wait...  They already used that one for the GLC/Protege'/323/Mazda3/Atenza...

For a preview of the 08/19 Midnight Show, try the previous seasonal (world compact car) at Cape Ring in the two Giulias.  A very FUN ride!!!

I'm not really that impressed with the Mazda seasonal, I mean I have like 50 different MX-5 / Miata / Roadster variants but after doing it once (I ended up using two premium ones I had knocking around) I have little to no desire to rerun any of the races.

Ones like the World Compact Cars and British Lightweights (even the Super GT one to a degree) have much more replay potential for me at least, quite a variety of car choices and a good number of enjoyable tracks.  Fingers crossed there will be one this week that's as good :).

I only have two miatas and they are both the premium one from the dealership, one is pretty stock and the other has all the extras. I wound up using the seasonal as a test and tune session. I didn't even bother trying to handicap the cars, because you'll outrun the AI after about two laps.

I treated it like a burglary, get in and out, with the loot, as fast as possible.

That's the way I look at these things. It's just a money machine that allows me to keep over 19millions in my account. I'm not sure why I bother as I seldom buy anything. Other than a recent shopping spree to acquire all the NASCAR cars (I don't know why) the only time I buy a car now is when I need it for one of the evnets.

I did notice this... and I'm sorry, the details escape me... one of the events offered a First Place Prize of 500,000 credits. When I golded it I was awarded a million. I think it was the Time Trial.

The prizes for the Time / Drift Trial events are a one off cumulative prizes, there are prizes for coming in 1nd, 2rd or 3st and you get the prize for your highest position and all previous prizes but only once.  So if you came 1nd the first time try it you get all 3 prizes which total up to 1mil (500k + 350K + 150k I think).

So there's a new Seasonal event up, first glance it's basically like the GT500 one but different cars.. here's the scoop.

Deutsche Tourenwagen Challenge
German Touring Car Championship - DTM cars up to 650pp, any tires
(AI cars 537-593PP on Racing: Hard tires)

Eiger Nordwand Short Track (Reverse) - 5 Laps
1st = 467,400 + Suit
2nd = 284,700 + Paint
3rd = 249,900 + Horn

Indianapolis Super Speedway - 5 Laps
1st = 399,000 + Helmet
2nd = 243,600 + Paint
3rd = 214,200 + Horn

Madrid City (reverse) - 5 Laps
1st = 484,200 + Suit
2nd = 294,900 + Paint
3rd = 258,900 + Horn

Sarthe Circuit 2009 - 2 Laps
1st = 531,000 + Helmet
2nd = 323,100 + Paint
3rd = 284,100 + Horn

Eifel (Circuit) - 5 Laps
1st = 523,200 + Suit
2nd = 318,300 + Paint
3rd = 279,900 + Horn

No new Time / Drift trials but there is an OCD update, mostly it contains a selection of GT500 and DTM cars (all half price and 0 mileage).

Wile I can appreciate the half price special and zero miles on the cars, this is just about the same as what was offered a couple months ago. Have the lever pulling monkeys been transfered to the Online dealership department?

NO, NO, NO.  No more lever pulling monkey.  I've had enough of that douche bag for a life time. >:(

Side note, I'll never understand why PD thought suits, helmets and horns were a good idea.  What a waste of time and resources, IMO.

Oh, I don't want to forget about those lovely museum cards that are so useful to me in game.

Sorry, back to your regularly scheduled program.

I don't know if I had the cash back when this set first showed up, but there are still a handful here I don't have (R8s!!! and Pescarolo)

That said, I'm really effin tired of seeing the FGT and Veyron in there week after week.

No FGT this week!  And yes, this is nearly identical to the set a month or two back, but I missed them then, so this is a wonderful opportunity for me to get what I missed now that I have the money!

I have one in my OCD...

It's after the R8 (race car) but before the R8 (touring cars)...   The FGT is always in there...   The Veyron only appears every2-3 weeks  (but at least recently it is half-price).

This is the first OCD update in a while that had any cars I needed for my collection.  I was missing all three of the R8s.

Love getting them at a discount!

When they've appeared in the UCD, I've never had enough cash.   Bought all three this morning for abot 25% more than the cost of the black "PlayStation" R8 alone at regular price...

When the game first came out people were understandably pissed waiting for an FGT to show up in the UCD so they could do the FGT Championship.
