Getting gold in this week's drift trials is insanely easy. Quick 2 million credits.

speak for yourself :(  :'(

I tried many a time with some kind of Lotus '90 (?) I think I got 1,500.  :-\

The Madrid time trial is a bit tough. The other is so easy. What gives? Not that I mind a bit of a challenge.

Speaking of the Madrid time trial, IMO they need to replace it with a different track or make major changes to what invalidates times on the track in terms of barrier / wall contact.

I just watched the replay for the current 1st place person on the leaderboard, it's ridiculous.. head down the first straight to the hairpin and handbrake to slide sideways into the barrier, take off down the next straight through the slight right hand curve and down the hill to ricochet off the right wall and carry speed through the sharp left hander, along the next bit past the pit entrance to the final corner where it's another handbrake slide into the barrier.

There's simply no way that degree of wall contact should be allowed in a time trial event.

But for those that might be having a hard time with Madrid, I found that having Traction Control set to 1 really helps settle the car down and it looks like car choice also plays a pretty big part in it.  I only tried a couple of the multitude of road cars but I'm thinking that race spec or tuner cars are the way to go, my first win was with the Citroen Xsara Rally Car and I just ran a gold time on my other account with the Honda Integra Type R Touring Car, popular leaderboard cars are the Honda Integra RM and Trial Celica so I'd expect the TRD Celica, Spoon Civic / Integra and RM'd Golf / Civic to also be pretty good.

For the Drift Trials, particularly at Daytuna I had some initial problems finding a line through the scoring zones to actually get points safely without wiping out.  I found running through the course a couple of times first mostly driving a racing line helped me figure out the easiest places to get the tail out for easy points enough to at least get the gold score, for Monaco I have a feeling that a lighter / lower powered car might be easier if you can find one you're happy with.  For giggles I busted out my Spitfire but I'm sure there are better choices (Lotus Elise springs to mind after their comedy AI performances in the British Lightweights seasonal at the same track).

I didn't look at the seasonal TT leaderboard, but thought of the RMed Integra right off the bat for Madrid. Just had to dial back the HP, and done it without using TC. Don't remember my time, all I wanted was the credits.

For the DRC drift, I used the Benz 190 Evo from the online dealer. Added race suspension, intake & filter, chip, and full exhaust. Brought it up to 289hp, and forgot to do the oil change. The gold scores are so low, you don't have to do "pretty" drifts, just be spinning through the zones. Got gold on both in 1 attempt. Ran both multiple times to make some good looking runs.

Also, incase y'all don't know, it scores better if you drift close to the inside of the turn. Doesn't matter how far sideways you are, if you're not in the right place, and that bugs me about the scoring. I've pulled off some pretty cool stuff, only to see the score not increase at all because of my track position.

Also, also, I've been off work all week, and have accumulated a few pics, and will post up when I go back to work. A couple need to go through photoshop first.

I managed gold in the Mercedes event without cutting.  I found it pretty tough on the comfort softs.  It was also annoying how whenever you knocked a cone over, you had to restart.

I've been wondering about this run a red lap and you have to restart crap.  What kind of shit is that?  On my best days, I'm lucky to run two laps in a row without hitting a cone or coming close to a line (there seem to be a few lines that you just have to look at wrong and your lap turns red).  On cold tires that car is a bitch to drive and it takes 3 laps just to warm the tires up, so I never seem to have a good run.
