Has anyone beaten the Nurburgring 600PP one lap race?  I've tried twice and have finished 4th and 3rd, never getting closer than 13 seconds behind the leader.  And this is while running 6:40.xxx lap times with no errors.  I feel like I'm missing something here, that somebody knows something I don't.

Is there a ringer car for this event?

I used the V12 LMR from BMW. And won on the 4rd or 5st try

I've made 2 attempts with the HSV, and finished 3th both times. I also had an off both times.

I won the 600PP one the other day with the Vauxhall Astra DTM car (I think my lap was 6'47.xxx or nearish), I tried it a few times before I got the win and I think the trick is to cycle the race until you get the right opponents.  The times when I came in 3rd or 4th I remember seeing a Ford GT LM car in one of the spots ahead of my after the race but when I won it the car I passed for 1st was the Chevrolet Camaro LM Car (the older one), so it's probably a case of PD's stupid "Chase the rabbit" format and some quick cars at the front.

In both of my losses I beleive the winning car was a Oreca Viper.  My cars used were the BMW M3 race car (575PP) and realizing I needed something faster, the C5-R LM detuned to 600PP.  Guess I'll try cycling.

Yes. I have it 1,060kg and whatever HP gets it to 600pp.

I should add too that I didn't specifically cycle the race to get an easy field of opponents, tried it first with the BMW Vision GT car since I was in it at the time and couldn't get higher than 3rd after a few attempts though I did notice the Ford GT and something else ahead by a good ways.  Didn't feel all that comfortable in the BMW so I hopped out to change cars, either got lucky with a better field or maybe a fast car wrecked early and got caught in traffic which allowed the Camaro to get to stay at the front until I caught it.

Yep dialed it way back to like 56% power but the in car and the way it drives has made it one of my favorite big guns type cars.

I tried the Mclaren F1 and managed 3rd. I found a tune for it today and I'm going to try it again tonight.
