Tried to beat the Nurburgring race with a stock Mustang Boss.  Aston Martin One-77 was on pole, so that didn't work.  Finished 3rd with a low 7's time.  This gave me the opportunity to notice another flaw - the 6th gear of the Boss is ridiculously tall.  Once you shift out of 5th gear at 160 mph forget it...you're not going to accelerate anymore.

Switched over to a stock 430 Scuderia and won (LP640 on pole) with a time just a bit quicker than the Boss.  7:03.xxx IIRC.  The really baffling thing was, when the race results were shown, my time, as well as every other car's times, was wrong.  It had my winning time listed as 8:03.xxx. ???

Anyone else experience this glitch?

Your lap time is shown first, then total race time. It takes roughly a minute at the beginning of the event for your car to cross the Start line.

^This. That was throwing me off at first too.

The X-car Seasonal is not difficult, once you settle into the car.
Get the Gold and run with the money.

However, you need a good handling car for the Sierra one.
I settled for the Scirocco R '10.

I'll try them tonight and I plan on going with that gold and go option.  :)

Gold and go is right for the Suzuka race.
Not gonna hang around this event trying to beat your times in this POS.

Sierra race is fun and frustrating at the same time.  I've been trying little shit box cars that I can barely get the gold in.  Time to upgrade cars choices and give it a go.

Also, make sure you check your tire grade.  I ran several laps on comfort hards not knowing it.  I suddenly went full retard.  Why can't I stay on track?  DUH!  It will default you to the lowest grade of tire if you do not own the proper set.

I did a few clean laps at Suzuka with only an oil change. I then went to Sierra with a Shelby Series One as suggested by http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/2-wheel-drive-non-racing-car-super-lap-circuito-de-la-sierra.318808/page-2#post-10178904. Unfortunately I after several failed attempts I shut it down for the night. I would get 2 to 3 minutes in and have a stoopid brain fart knock into a wall. I'll try again tonight.

Cheers

I ran the Sierra TT in a Clio. Thing was really loose, so I played it safe, and managed to squeek a gold in there. MMX tried to hit it hard in the BMW Concept 135(?), and kept going red. Gave that a break, and ran some fun races at TOC. The wife is working tonight, so I'll try the TT again.

The Nurb DT is fun, great sections for it. Hit that last sector fast,  so you have the momentum to maintain the drift down the straight, between the two turns.

The Sierra DT is tough to score on, but gold is easy.

  soks, I know the feeling.

It only took me two attempts to gold it with the Clio, but then I try it with the BMW Concept Tii, and probably restarted 30 times, before I got it.

I have logged almost 500 miles trying the Sierra event.

The BMW 135 got me the original gold, but I felt I was leaving a ton of time out there.  Tried a tricked out Miata.  No good.  To slow down those long sections.  And, the BRZ felt slow out of the corners and a bit slippery when pushed.  Failed epically with that one.

However, I found a little gem in the Mazda dealership today.  The '03 Kusabi concept.  FWD but weighs very little.  I managed to destroy my original time with it.  It can't keep up with a well driven GSX-R, the go to car for this race it seems.  But, fun little car!
