I spent about 2 1/2 hours Friday night doing the Sierra seasonal.  So freaking annoying to go 8 minutes deep then hit a wall  >:(  However, I feel like the work paid off b/c my time, at the time, was good enough for 3rd on my friends list.

And I clocked that time using a stock Ferrari Daytona detuned to 500PP (it's just over the limit intially - like 503PP).  Here's to the 70s whoop whoop!  :D

I think I want to go back and give it a go with some more modern hardware with maybe a tuned suspension and transmission.

This is probably why I won't bother trying too hard for Gold or even posting a time on this seasonal, I've only tried the track a few times and while it's a really nice track I don't think it makes a good TT track with the penalties on like they are.  Much the same as the full Nurburgring, great track too but both are long for TTs with penalties for my taste.

C'mon Feldynn jump in the Miura or the M3 CSL and run a good quick lap that will be good enough for gold it does not take a brilliant lap to gold it.

I'll give it another shot this week Baked :), first attempt (ever on the track) was with a fat Rocket which actually did really well but I didn't have the patience at the time to keep DQing every 2-5 minutes into the lap from silly mistakes or lack of track knowledge.

Probably what I should do is actually check out that Sierra Rally special event thing, I've not even looked at that since it was released so that may actually help.

I think that is a pretty smart idea there Feld.

If you think turning your lap red pisses you off, wait til you have other cars to avoid.

I stopped at the Fiat because of just that. I too am stuck on the TT about 5 minutes in. I am improving though, over the weekend I was only managing 2 minutes before acquiring a red time.

I spent an hour yesterday,in a poorly tuned RUF 3400S, trying to improve on my time.

I think I finally found a RWD car that I can get around this track with relative ease.  I just gotta slap a better tune on it.  I was way up on my time (2 plus seconds) entering the final section only to have a complete brain fart.  I smacked the wall at pit entrance.  Lap invalid!  FUCK!!!!  200 yards from the finish and I would have had it.

Good luck guys.  Keep it up.

PS: Feldynn, definitely do the Sierra rally thingy.  It's a great way to get to know the track in a slow car, a med speed car and a fast car.  Fiat, VW, and Ferarri respectively.  Trying over and over again to get the gold in these events made me learn the track at varying speeds.

I feel like a well tuned FD RX7 can probably get some pretty impressive times at Sierra.

Heh yeah ain't that the truth!  To be fair it wasn't as bad as I'd expected with the Fiat, I guess because of the slow speed, but even in the Scirocco I was reminded in a hurry how ridiculously terrible the AI is in this game sometimes.  I can imagine how much "fun" it'll be in the fastest car with the AI swerving all over the road, braking at weird points on or for no reason during corners. cutting in front of you at the last second and mashing the brakes and all the other good stuff they do!

On the bright side running some laps with the Fiat and VW should help with the Seasonal too once I get around to trying that again :).

The RUF 3400S was magic.  Finally got under the 9:30 mark.  9:29.XXX.  Beat my old time by 3 seconds.

Wolf, I think an RX7 might do well here also.

I managed to get the VW through Sierra with only a single wall hump. Next will be the Ferrari then back to this seasonal.  ^-^
