Anyone else think that the Subaru VGT car is a big pile of crap?  What an understeering son of a bitch hunk of junk that car is.  Seriously, that's what the Subaru gurus came up with?  Even their imaginary cars have inferior AWD systems to the 7 year old Mitsubishi Evo X.

 :stoopid:

What a turd.

And we can't even sell them.

Like Baked, I also only really like the BMW Vision GT car though after watching the video for the Toyota FT-1 VGT (interesting video about them making a concept race car version of the FT-1 concept car) I'm actually thinking that might be another one I like.  At least it makes sense to me as a concept and design, the other ones though have all been shipped off to the Graveyard though with the X2014 cars to gather dust ;D.

Also, bah humbug!

What a surprise the first turn was.  Plow, plow, plow.  Hello wall.  What a giant pile of feces that car is.

It's the AWD system trying to handle a massive amount of power.  I like the Mitsu VGT car for it's driving, not looks.  For the Scoobie VGT, try laying of the throttle a little exiting corners.  You're trying to put too much power down and the diff has to do some juggling of horses.  That is what causes the understeer IME.  Could it be tuned out?  Sure.  Do I fault them for producing a concept car that is not perfect in handling?  Not in the least.

I did some running in the World 2 lap Laguna Seca (oh, ok, Mazda Raceway) Quick Match event last night and it wasn't half bad. It is only 2 laps, the penalty is on strong and the payout is very good. It seems the start interval varies, for me it was about a minute and a half.  It places you randomly in a start position, so no Q'ing. Even if I started at the back, because of the penalty system it was pretty easy to get passed the jackholes. Then no matter where I finished I was earning 60 to 100K.

I used the Vette by the way.  :)

You can't tune it out.  The gasoline engine only powers the front wheels.  The rear wheels are powered by electric motors.  So it's really not an AWD system trying to handle massive amounts of power.  It's a FWD system trying to handle too much power and a RWD system handling it's power just fine.   :P

VGTs in general...I think it's some pretty gimmicky BS.  I'd much rather prefer R.E.A.L. F'ing cars.  I find it shocking that we don't get new cars in DLC like we did in GT5, for free or otherwise.  Nonetheless, I'm a fan of the Mercedes, Toyota and BMW VGTs.

Both can win under-speced, but the Gallardo will need to be near full spec.

You can't tune it out.  The gasoline engine only powers the front wheels.  The rear wheels are powered by electric motors.  So it's really not an AWD system trying to handle massive amounts of power.  It's a FWD system trying to handle too much power and a RWD system handling it's power just fine.   :P

I stand correct(ed) about the drive train, but the effect is still the same.  Too much at the front so you cannot turn and gas at full throttle regardless.  What I meant by tune was that something on the car could be changed to alleviate the understeer, whether it be drivetrain, suspension or something else...  Unfortunately, because it's a tuneless time trial (TTT) that option is locked out.  But bear in mind, that all drivers are experiencing the same problem, so it's something that can be overcome or at least learned from.

FWIW, I didn't find the car all that bad to begin with, so maybe it just comes down to taste like so many things?

It's not that the car feels "bad", it's just odd.

I can't imagine a real 4WD car acting like that.
Not really.

The LFA '10 is the shit at RBR. Full weight reduction, then detuned HP to 550pp, everything else stock. Smoked the gold time first lap.

Ran the new Suzuka track for the first time, it's beautiful, but I still hate it. Only ran it on one ID.

Used the old Ferrari 250s for the DTs. Neither car has any low end grunt, gotta keep 'em screamin' to keep 'em sideways.  :D

I hit Suzy with a ZZ Top II and dropped a scud on Redbull Ring.
